15 Years and Here

6 years after the first release of Iraq and Back: A Journey with Depression, I finally wrote a sequel to the beloved poetry book.

Although as small as the impact upon the world felt for Iraq and Back, I was pleasantly surprised to find on one the poems quoted on multiple sites and an article on veterans.

“You don’t get a purple heart for being mentally shot” seems to have been an anthem for mental health awareness in the veteran community, at least on a minimal scale.

Al the same, the sequel 15 Years and Counting: A Veteran’s New Journey is a continuation of my first autobiography in poem form. Chronicling my thoughts on my current state in life, my oncoming aging, and but never ending bouts with depression.

If you enjoyed the raw emotions of the first book, I think you will love this book as well. It also sports 10 more poems, but has no art.
